Suriname is van plan om de export van manja’s (mango’s) naar Europa te hervatten. De export van dit fruit, die sinds 2015 alleen vanuit Nickerie plaatsvond, werd in augustus 2019 door het Ministerie van Landbouw, Veeteelt en Visserij (LVV) stopgezet vanwege strengere EU-wetgeving die vereist dat exporterende landen een monitorsysteem voor fruitvliegen hebben.
